The Hollywood Reporter Talks With Oscar Writing Contenders

Posted today was The Hollywood Reporter's one hour long conversation with a number of writers who will most likely be getting a nomination for writing at this year's Oscars. The writers are Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours), Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3), John Wells (The Company Men), Todd Phillips (Due Date) and David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole). It's a long conversation but well worth a watch if you're a film fan, check it out below.

The writers are Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours), Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3), John Wells (The Company Men), Todd Phillips (Due Date) and David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole). It’s a long conversation but well worth a watch if you’re a film fan, check it out below.Not sure why Phillps is included here. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy his films, alot, but he just doesn’t seem to fit in here. There’s not a chance in hell Due Date is getting an Oscar nom.

If you ask me, I think Sorkin already has the award secured, I don’t see anyone else coming close to what he did with The Social Network. It’s still early though so who knows. From everything I’ve been hearing about 127 Hours, Beaufoy may give Sorkin some good competition.
