After the recent news of Soderbergh hopping on board the upcoming film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E, we now have some additional info. George Clooney is going to be joining Soderbergh in what will be the team’s seventh collaboration together (Out of Sight, Ocean’s Eleven, Solaris, Ocean’s Twelve, The Good German and Ocean’s Thirteen).

Clooney will of course take the lead role of U.N.C.L.E. agent Napoleon Solo, a role played by Robert Vaughn in the original. Seeing as Soderbergh has a few projects going right now, most notably Contagion, starring Matt Damon, it may be a while before this film gets off the ground.

In other Soderbergh related news, his next film, Haywire, will hit theatres on April 22, 2011. Being described as a spy thriller, the film boasts an impressive cast including, Gina Carano, Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton, Michael Angarano, Matthieu Kassovitz and Antonio Banderas.

Soderbergh is an interesting director and both of these projects sound great, especially The Man From U.N.C.L.E. It’ll be nice to see Clooney back with Soderbergh. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any further developments.
