I’ve been avoiding making this list for a while now. I still haven’t seen all the major contenders of 2010. Some major films I’ve missed include, Exit Through the Gift Shop, The Fighter, Blue Valentine, Biutiful, and The Secret in Their Eyes. But I’m not sure when I’ll be catching up with these. So, I’m throwing caution to the wind, and am listing my favorites of the year, those that I couldn’t, and still haven’t, stopped thinking about after the final credits started rolling. Here they a
Another year passes and with it goes another year of movies for us to remember and hopefully some for us to forget. Blockbusters were forged, masterpieces were discovered and stars continued to roll in the dough. 2011 is upon us now and the past is soon to be ancient history along with the movies of last year. Before we say goodbye to 2010 it’s time to honor its importance in film with a list of the winners and losers that this year presented. Let the awards begin!
Tweet As a whole, the year hasn’t been great. For every great film there were several bad ones. And when they were bad this year, they were really bad. It’s a shame to because some films promised so much and ended up being terrible. Other films were as bad as could be expected from just [...]
The good old best films of the year article. Everyone does one, everyone has one and everyone wants to read one. You’ll see a couple popping up on our site but here is mine. It has been an interesting year for film. 3D took over theatres, Christopher Nolan once again blew our minds, we saw some phenomenal young talent break onto the scene and as always, only a small handful of films really impressed me.
The year is done and it is time for us all to look back upon our digital conquests! Personally, I feel like 2010 was more of a catchup year, for me at least. Now, I only have an Xbox 360 due to a superb lack of funds but I hope to jump into the PS3 arena before a new console is announced!
I spent a bit of time during the beginning of the year trying to make some progress on Fallout 3 and Dragon Age since they are such large games. Unfortunately, I didn’t even get to start delving into the DLC for either of those games, even to this day!
And so the year comes to a close. The week between Christmas and leading up to New Years is often one of reflection. What I keep thinking about is what an all-around good year it was for all entertainment. Video games, film and art in general all had strong years. Music was no different, as this year a great many albums came out that were not only significant, but also just some great new tunes for our iPods.
It’s that time of year again. List time, the time where we all sit down and contemplate the year gone by and what the movies had to offer us. I have to admit the year has been pretty dire, with only a few gems that had to be removed from the bad to the wholly unremarkable. The fact is the true genius work of this year has been provided by independent filmmakers, who are fighting hard in tough economic times to keep cinema alive and exciting. What was promising about 2010 was that when there was a great film, it was pretty much knockout and my number 1 for this year is one of my favourite films for many years. The only films not seen at the time of writing that I think would make it into this list is True Grit and 127 Hours.
After reading so many “best of” lists recently for video games in 2010, one thing became painfully obvious to me: they were all the same. It was as if everyone just copy and pasted one another’s lists and posted them on different websites. It was not a case of plagiarism however, people were just writing what they thought were the best games of the year in their opinion. The problem was 2010 had basically ten to fifteen great games. There was an abundance of good titles and fun time-wasters but only a limited amount of classics were released. By no means was it a bad twelve months for video games, 2010 just won’t be remembered for being as heavy hitting as years already passed.
2010 has been a decent year for hip hop with some genuinely special projects and a lot of mediocre ones. We Got This Covered is here to narrow down the best hip hop albums of the year.
Another year is about to end and that means it’s time to look back at all the great games that released in the past twelve months and narrow it down to the must-plays. Here are We Got This Covered’s Best Video Games of 2010!
