Avengers: Age Of Ultron Blu-Ray Includes Deleted Scenes And Gag Reel, Set To Hit In October

It won't be long before Marvel's biggest event of the summer hits Blu-Ray and DVD, after the studio today revealed an Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser that slates the release for October 2. Bundling together 45 minutes of bonus content, deleted scenes and a gag reel - but, crucially, no director's cut of Joss Whedon's superhero sequel - the flick will also launch across 3D Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital SD and VOD on the same day.

Ardent Marvelites will no doubt be looking forward to the Blu-ray release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, not to mention the opportunity to take a peak behind the curtain to see how Whedon wrangled the mammoth feature together in the first place. With such a huge cast of characters, the deleted scenes will also be of interest, too, though it’s unlikely any of them will have any bearing on the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Prior to its release earlier this year, the director noted that he had once planned a Captain Marvel cameo in the superhero sequel, though opted to cut it out because it didn’t gel with the rest of the script. Looking ahead, though, this coupled with the theatrical release of Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man ought to sate the appetite before Captain America: Civil War next year.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will land on Blu-Ray on October 2, while those eager to own the action-packed sequel early can pick up a 3D Digital or Digital HD copy on September 8.
