It might not have done too well commercially or critically, but there’s still something to be said for the spectacle that is Alex Proyas’ Gods of Egypt. With big, loud visuals, some entertaining set pieces and Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau squaring off against one another as Egyptian gods, the film is, at the very least, mindless entertainment that’s more or less harmless.
