If you’re anything like me, you’ve held off on buying The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-Ray in anticipation of The Dark Knight Trilogy Collector’s Edition set that surely should be hitting shelves soon. After all, what’s the fun in owning the films if you don’t have the best edition you can? Well we may be in luck, as the first details about such an edition have hit the web.

Keep in mind, nothing official has been announced by Warner Bros. yet, but Polish Batman site Batcave has posted three images showcasing the contents of a collector’s edition for the trilogy. From what we can tell, the edition includes nine discs, a book, three prints, a poster, and three toy models of vehicles from the trilogy (The Tumbler, The Batpod and The Bat).

The price looks to be 89.99 euros, which is about $117. That’s much steeper than 3 film sets usually go for, even when they include extras such as this, so I expect the price won’t be quite that high when it hits U.S. stores.

Personally, I can do without the toy models, and while I think posters are cool, they aren’t what I buy these sets for. What I want from this set is extensive bonus footage and commentary from Christopher Nolan, beyond what’s been released on the current Blu-Rays. If the set doesn’t have that, I’m going to be let down, despite how interesting the book and prints sound.

Last year there was word that the collector’s edition would hit shelves in the third quarter of 2013, so that means we still have a few months to wait until every home can be filled with more of Nolan’s Gotham City than they can handle.
