Fox will be bringing the Alexander Payne film The Descendants to Blu-Ray in March. The Oscar nominated drama stars George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Beau Bridges, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillard and Robert Forster.
Alexander Payne‘s first film in 7 years is easily one of the best films of 2011. The Descendants is one of those rare emotional journeys that brings both joy and sadness. It’s an incredibly uplifting film that is anchored by a career-best performance by George Clooney. It earned several top nominations at the Oscars, but only took home Best Adapted Screenplay. If we lived in a perfect world the film would have taken home Best Actor, Best Film and Best Director.

This is a film that thoughtfully asks the question, without a trace of melodrama or sappiness, “What do we inherit and how do we pass it on?” It underscores the basic truth that life can be dark, laugh-out-loud funny, heartbreakingly sad, and achingly sweet.
