Walmart will be exclusively releasing two John Wayne titles (The Big Trail and The Barbarian and the Geisha) on Blu-Ray in May. The films will be handled by 20th Century Fox, but the retail giant will have exclusive sale rights for an undisclosed amount of time.
John Wayne, the popular actor/director is known for making hundreds of classic films and the announcement of The Big Trail and The Barbarian and the Geisha should only please the die-hard fans even more. It’s hard to own every title from a guy that’s made so many movies. I’ve never cared much for Wayne’s films because I personally feel like if you’ve seen one of his films you’ve seen them all, but that shouldn’t stop western fans from checking out his work.
He’s without a doubt one of the most influential filmmakers ever to grace the silver screen.
Both films will be presented as Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs. No special features or technical specs have been announced.
The Big Trail and The Barbarian and the Geisha will be available to own on Blu-Ray on May 8th, 2012.
