Aquaman #25 First Look Offers Rebirth’s Most Visually Stunning Undersea Adventures Yet

It's almost hard to believe that we're nearly a year into this whole Rebirth thing. As such, some of DC's top titles that have been shipping on a twice-monthly basis will reach the milestone of 25 issues in June, one of which is that of Aquaman. Not surprisingly, higher page counts will be allotted, but when you consider that you'll be paying only $3.99 for the comic you can sample in the gallery above, that doesn't seem like too bad of a deal, now does it?

It’s almost hard to believe that we’re nearly a year into this whole Rebirth thing. As such, some of DC’s top titles that have been shipping on a twice-monthly basis will reach the milestone of 25 issues in June, one of which is that of Aquaman. Not surprisingly, higher page counts will be allotted, but when you consider that you’ll be paying only $3.99 for the comic you can sample in the gallery above, that doesn’t seem like too bad of a deal, now does it?

Fortunately for everybody, this’ll be an issue anyone can pick up and enjoy because it begins a new story arc. Not only that, but series writer Dan Abnett will be joined by none other than Stjepan Sejic, who’ll be providing some visuals that are nothing short of gorgeous.

What’s also noteworthy is that we’re arriving at the point where the Arthur Curry on the printed page will start to more closely resemble Jason Momoa in anticipation of the upcoming feature film. Yes, we’re fully aware that the character looked a little more rugged back in the 1990’s and on Justice League Unlimited, but the fact that his clean-shaven image that’s been present since the start of the New 52 is no more can’t be coincidence given the timing.

Aquaman #25 is set to arrive in comic shops on June 21. For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

“UNDERWORLD” part one! In this extra-sized anniversary issue, former terrorists have replaced the Atlantean police. Crime lords control huge swaths of the kingdom. And a deadly undersea arsenal is trained on the surface-dwellers. All is as King Rath commands—and yet whispers persist of a rebel in the slums of Atlantis: A hero with the potential to change the world. A whole new era of AQUAMAN begins as master storyteller Stjepan Sejic (Sunstone, Death Vigil) joins series writer Dan Abnett for Arthur’s boldest and most harrowing adventure yet!
