Captain America And Hydra Assemble On Free Comic Book Day Secret Empire Cover

The reveal that Captain America is secretly a Hydra agent was by far one of the most controversial comic book moments in recent memory, and while we later learned that his new villainous nature is a result of a Cosmic Cube changing his memory and past, seeing him plotting against his fellow heroes is still no easier to swallow. Now, everything will come to a head later this year in the Secret Empire event, a story which looks set to unite everyone from The Avengers to The Inhumans and X-Men against Captain America.

It’s going to be absolutely massive and anticipation for it is understandably high. That’s why we’re pleased to tell you that Marvel has revealed today that the event will kick off in a special Free Comic Book Day issue of Secret Empire by writer Nick Spencer and artist Andrea Sorrentino. This will be set before the recently revealed #0 issue, and while we don’t know what to expect from it quite yet, chances are it will help set Secret Empire up in a way which excites new and old fans alike.

The comic will also include a sneak peek at Spider-Man’s new series, while another Free Comic Book Day offering from the publisher will revolve around the All-New Guardians of the Galaxy, which was recently revealed. Suffice to say, it’s a good time to be a Marvel fan.

We’ll bring you more on Secret Empire as soon as further updates arise, but for now, check out the cover for the issue below and let us know what you’re most excited to see from this Captain America-centric event in the comments section.
