Marvel Comics Welcome Back Fantastic Four With New Trailer

Something that I've always dug seeing the big publishers do is whenever they go beyond the normal means of promoting new books via print ads, online banners and other stuff of that sort. Really, if Marvel wants to grab the attention of True Believers, they're going to do it in style by releasing a trailer for a comic.

To some, they may wonder what’s the point, but without these funny books, you wouldn’t have your movies, animated series or beach towels. And when it comes to an iconic stable such as the Fantastic Four, well, Marvel’s First Family are more than deserving of all the fanfare accompanying their highly anticipated return.

Helping with marking this momentous occasion is the aforementioned trailer, which you can check out up above. In it, we’re given a brief tour of the group’s illustrious history, as images supplied by some of the more definitive artists to touch the heroes are given somewhat of a motion comic treatment. Hey, you do have to admit that it makes them pop.

Fantastic Four

If you’ll recall, we got our first whiff of the new series late last month, as we were told that this book would be among many to launch as part of the “Fresh Start” initiative that’ll be going on throughout the summer. The mission statement of which should seem quite self-explanatory, so you can probably guess the publisher wants to provide as many jumping on points as possible.

When it comes to who’ll be tackling this specific ongoing, Dan Slott will handle writing duties and Sara Pichelli will provide interior art. But as for the cover art, you’ll have much reason to feast your eyes because none other than Esad Ribic has been enlisted for that job!

Fantastic Four #1 is slated to arrive in comic shops this August.
