GameCube Games May Be Available Via WiiWare

A Nintendo exec mentioned an interesting tidbit about the Wii U and GameCube game compatibility during an interview with Nintendo Gal at E3 2011. Amber McCollom, Director of Entertainment and Trend Marketing at Nintendo, said that a number of the games that were playable on the GameCube can be downloaded from WiiWare.

At E3 this year we had the opportunity to drop by Microsoft’s booth and meet with developer Twisted Pixel, who gave us the chance to check out their Kinect title, The Gunstringer. You may remember Twisted Pixel for their previous arcade titles, ‘Splosion Man and Comic Jumper. Well, they’re back and bringing a new Kinect game that puts players in the role of a gun-slinging, cowboy-hat-wearing, skeleton marionette bent on revenge.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss Hands On Preview [E3 2011]

Although teased and briefly shown off earlier this year, Sony finally came out during their press conference at this year’s E3 to formally announce what their ‘Next-Generation Portable’ would be called and reveal some of the first-party titles that would be released on the PlayStation Vita later this year. One of those high profile titles is the newest title in the Uncharted series, Golden Abyss. Behind closed doors, we were able to get an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming title from Sony Bend Studios.

Saints Row 3 Impressions [E3 2011]

At E3 this year, we dropped by the THQ booth where they gave us the opportunity to check out the third game in their over-the-top, open world, third-person shooter series, Saints Row 3. We were actually shown gameplay of the game without having the controller in our own hands, but from the looks of things a lot of great action that gamers have come to expect from THQ’s series definitely remains.

Prey 2 Impressions [E3 2011]

Formally presented at this year’s E3, Bethesda Softworks and Human Head Studios gave us a closed presentation on Prey 2, the sequel to 2006′s award winning first-person shooter. Rumors on Prey 2 have been circulating around the industry since the first title’s release and it wasn’t until March that gamers finally got some tangible proof about its existence in the form of a brief trailer. Now three months later, Bethesda Softworks brings us into their booth for an exclusive demo of the upcoming title.

At E3 last week, game developer CD Projekt RED gave us the opportunity to check out a demo of the Xbox 360 version of their recently released RPG (for the PC), The Witcher 2. In The Witcher 2, players take on the role of an older version of first game’s hero and witcher – someone who has been genetically enhanced and trained from an early age to battle vicious monsters, Geralt of Rivia, who now serves as the bodyguard to the king of Temeria, King Foltest.

Ken Levine Explains What Sky-Lines Are In Bioshock Infinite

After an impressive showing at E3 from Bioshock Infinite, the good folks at Irrational Games have released a video featuring head honcho Ken Levine attempting to explain to gamers what exactly these so called Sky-Lines are. In a nutshell, there a rail-based system that help the player move around and Levine has described them as “a roller coaster, over another roller coaster, over another roller coaster.” You can jump onto, off of, and between the tracks at any time, and you will also face enemies while riding.
