There was a time when a major summer blockbuster couldn’t be released without a video game hitting shelves to accompany it. However, when it became apparent that consumers were growing wise to the fact that these games were almost always terrible, sales started to plummet, and they’ve now become something of a rarity.

That’s both a good thing and a bad thing, but it’s hard not to feel annoyed and disappointed when a movie like Avengers: Age of Ultron is released, and the best we get is some lame mobile game tie-in which doesn’t come anywhere close to giving gamers the opportunity to relive the best parts of the movie in an effective way.

So, with that in mind, we’ve put together a list of eight superheroes (some from movies, some from TV, and even some from the comics themselves) who all need to be dominating consoles just like Batman has been doing with the Arkham games.

Of course, some of these characters have already starred in their own video games, but the results haven’t always been what fans expected. So, whether they’ve had the gaming treatment already or not, here are 8 superheroes who deserve a proper outing on consoles and PC.
