Activision Releases First Tease For Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

Ahead of its full reveal on April 26th, Activision has gone ahead and teased Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Offering up a brief trailer that shows nothing more than a simple logo accompanied by quotes from Black Ops I and II, it's hard to really get much of an idea as to what they have planned for us here. All we really know at this point is that we won't be headed back to WWII.

Much like Advanced Warfare before it, Black Ops III will jump the CoD timeline into a “dark, twisted future,” with soldiers having access to bleeding-edge technology and exo-suits. In fact, Treyarch’s sequel appears to incorporate themes of transhumanism that wouldn’t look out of place in a Deus Ex title, which lends some interesting tidbits for the shooter’s core campaign.

Other than that, we know that Zombies Mode will make a return, too, and the content within the game will be split across three modes that have become stalwarts in Activision’s billion-dollar baby: campaign, multiplayer and Zombies Mode.

We’ll keep you posted on this new-fangled installment as we gear up to the full reveal in May. For now, take a look at the first tease for Call of Duty: Black Ops III above and let us know what you think we’re in store for.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.
