According to a retail listing by GameStop Italy, Ubisoft’s upcoming tactics-based shooter Rainbow Six Siege will make its debut on October 16 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

First picked up by Italian outlet Tell Me About Games, the listing has since been changed to “To Be Determind,” which is either good news or bad news depending on how you view it. While unconfirmed at the time of writing, such a release date just so happens to be a Friday, which is the traditional day that games would launch in the UK. Even still, Ubisoft has played its cards awfully close to its chest when it comes to Siege, and its only recently that the French publisher detailed the forthcoming closed beta.

Our advice? Take this one with a grain of salt. Rainbow Six Siege certainly shows a lot of promise, and it remains as one of the more surprising announcements coming out of E3 2014, but there’s no doubting its intricate nature, with two teams of players playing out a full-blown siege within a hostile stronghold. The game is also said to boast a litany of devices to aid your quest — be it opposing or defensive — including tactical maps, recon drones that can be deployed at any time, not to mention the ability to rappel from the rooftop. Because who doesn’t love to make a good entrance?

Those players who choose to pre-order Rainbow Six Siege will get instant access to the game’s closed beta later this year. As for the rest, Ubisoft has assured fans that they still have the chance of entering via a lottery draw on the company’s site. We’ll keep you up-to-date with the release window of Siege as we learn more.
