Athletes and YouTube stars came together yesterday to compete in Day of DOOM; a tournament featuring new multiplayer challenges for the upcoming DOOM game. Each athlete was paired with a YouTube teammate in a 6v6, single-elimination tournament that was streamed live on YouTube Gaming.

When the action got underway, Antonio Brown and teammate iJustine beat out Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson and teammate Adam Kovic to capture the Day of DOOM tournament title. The winning team also fought off competition from Rob Gronkowski, Thierry Henry and SSSniperWolf, as well as Rooster Teeth’s Michael Jones in the event hosted by Bethesda Softworks.

The Day of DOOM tournament featured the first live stream of DOOM’s competitive multiplayer, with never-before-seen gameplay from the upcoming Closed Beta. The Beta commences tomorrow but you can still determine whether you’ll be eligible to participate by visiting the official site at http://doom.com/beta.

Check out the archived stream of the tournament at Rooster Teeth’s channel, and keep an eye out for more on DOOM as the Closed Beta testing runs over the next few days.
