Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, a current-gen re-release of all three games in which the titular character appeared, is headed to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 17, Ubisoft has finally announced.
Of course, none of this really comes as a surprise, what with the copious amount of leaks we’ve had over the past month or so, but it’s nice to see, nonetheless, not least because we’ve gotten a sneak peek of what the enhanced versions of Assassin’s Creed 2, Brotherhood and Revelations will look like, thanks to the reveal trailer (above).
All three titles have been enhanced for current-gen consoles in some form or fashion, but Ubisoft hasn’t yet detailed exactly what they’ve done to these remasters to set them apart from the originals. Previous reports have suggested that they’ll run at 1080p/30fps, but that has yet to be confirmed. If true, we find it mildly surprising that 60fps wasn’t targeted – both consoles easily have enough processing power to do such a thing.
Either way, we’re looking forward to reliving Ezio’s adventures come November, although it should be noted that these versions are strictly single player only releases, so no multiplayer will be available. All single player DLC will be included on the disc.
With Ubisoft opting not to release a new entry in the franchise this year in order to give it a rest, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is the perfect fit for that gap.
Expect to see more info released over the next few weeks.
