Platinum Games’ long-awaited sequel Bayonetta 2 has debuted in seventh place in the UK’s all-format charts, with FIFA 15 extending its impressive run at number one for a fifth consecutive week.

According to figures published by retail analyst Chart-Track, the Wii U exclusive proved to be the highest ranking new entry this week. Elsewhere, Civilization: Beyond Earth — the latest entry into the Sid Meier’s series that takes the renown strategy title into space — entered at 18th, whereas fellow newcomers Just Dance 2015 and SingStar: Ultimate Party weaved their way into 19th and 32nd, respectively.

Here’s this week’s complete top ten:

1) FIFA 15
2) Minecraft: PlayStation Edition
3) The Evil Within
4) Destiny
5) Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
6) Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
7) Bayonetta 2
8) Forza Horizon 2
9) Alien: Isolation
10) Skylanders Trap Team

Now that FIFA 15 has held on to the number one spot for a fifth week running, EA Sports’ footie simulator is the most successful chart-topper of the year thus far. Thanks to a price promotion and the recent release on PlayStation 4, Minecraft: PlayStation Edition jumped seven places to nab this week’s silver trophy, with The Evil Within, Destiny, and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor rounding off the top five.

Speaking of price promotions, a limited discount helped thrust Activison’s Skylanders Trap Team into the top ten in lieu of DriveClub, as Evolution Studios’ über-realistic racer continues to experience problems.

Alas, there isn’t too much competition between now and the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare — which hits next Tuesday, November 4th across a hoard of platforms. As such, it looks certain that FIFA 15 will remain at the top of the pile for another week at least.

Circling back to Bayonetta 2, though, Platinum Games ought to be proud of its high-octane (and, quite frankly, bonkers) sequel considering the Wii U’s meagre install base.
