One of gaming’s best franchises will be hitting a handheld device for the first time. BioShock creator, Ken Levine, confirmed that his studio is working on bringing their popular first-person shooter series to the PlayStation Vita.

The comment has created speculation about whether it would be a port or a new entry into the series. Levine didn’t give any more details other than confirming its existence, so consider our interest levels piqued. That was the idea though, wasn’t it?

Sony also announced that PS3 copies of BioShock Infinite will ship with the original BioShock on the same Blu-ray disc. This should give those who have yet to play the incredible shooter an opportunity to do so.
