Released this week are the achievements and a brand new trailer for the upcoming Bioshock Infinite, one of my most anticipated games of the year. Coming to us from the team at 2K Games and Irrational, and scheduled for a March 26th release date, the newest trailer shows off the beautiful city of Columbia, giving us a great look at the environments and gameplay that await us.

Compared to Rapture, the setting in the previous games, Columbia looks like a great playground for gamers to take control of protagonist Booker DeWitt, who is sent to the city to find a young woman named Elizabeth who has been held captive there for many years. Of course, that’s only what you’ll get on the surface as those who have played the previous Bioshock games will know that the series is well respected for its deep and engaging storyline. I’m sure Bioshock Infinite will be no different.

In addition to the new trailer, we also have the achievement list for the game, which looks pretty standard. Not a whole lot of info can be gained from them but by reading the descriptions you may be able to pick up a few tidbits on what to expect.

I love the Bioshock games, and though it really looks like the team is shaking things up for this one, I’m still mighty excited for the final product. The game has already done very well for itself at various trade shows, E3 included, and the buzz surrounding it is extremely positive. Given the previous track record of the series, I don’t think we have anything to worry about.

You can check out the achievements over at Exophase and the trailer below. Be sure to head down to the comments and let us know if you’re looking forward to Bioshock Infinite.
