BioShock Infinite Actually Goes Gold, Celebrates With Lamb Of Columbia Trailer

Irrational Games announced this morning that BioShock Infinite has officially gone gold. This means work on the title is finished, both Microsoft and Sony have given the developer the high sign, and the code for the game is now in the hands of the manufacturer who will soon burn it onto shiny DVD and Blu-ray discs. It also indicates that the third installment in the BioShock franchise will meet its March 26th release date, after experiencing only two delays.

I have not checked, but a total of two delays for a single game has got to be some kind of record for Take-Two Interactive’s publishing arm.

At any rate, to celebrate the fact that you will soon have BioShock Infinite‘s mundane box art sitting in your video game collection, Irrational Games released a brand new trailer today for the shooter titled “Lamb of Columbia”. The new trailer focuses on Elizabeth, the game’s female lead character, and asks “How dangerous can one little girl be?”. Apparently, she can be quite dangerous if she happens to wield some amazing powers, and has spent her whole life locked up by a freaking giant mechanical bird that fly around shooting energy waves out of its mouth.

While the Lamb of Columbia trailer doesn’t contain anything that we have not yet seen in prior videos or demos, you might want to steer clear of it if you are planning to go into BioShock Infinite with a clean slate. There are a few bits and pieces that could be considered spoilers for some.

Barring one more delay for old times’ sake, BioShock Infinite appears to be ready to launch on March 26, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Check out the new Lamb of Columbia trailer below, and drop us a line in the comments to let us know your thoughts on the upcoming game.
