It’s here! Biggest trailer of the year? Quite possibly. After a plethora of speculation, rumors, leaks, announcements and more, the first official gameplay trailer to what can arguably be the most hyped game of the year has arrived. Yes, that’s right folks, we now have the first gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Looking to dethrone Battlefield 3 as the king of shooters, the game truly does look absolutely incredible. Does it look like anything new? No, not really. But hey, if it’s not broken then don’t fix it, right? It likely will be more of the same but if that means another experience like Modern Warfare 2 then count me in! Plus I’m sure Infinity Ward still has a number of secrets up their sleeves.
Will it really steal Battlefield 3‘s thunder? If it’s just more of the same then likely not. But will it be a fantastic gaming experience? You bet. Modern Warfare 2 is still amongst the best videogames I’ve ever played, which is why I’m fine if this indeed does turn out to just be another round of what we saw with the 2009 GOTY.
That being said, Infinity Ward knows EA and DICE have big things in store with Battlefield 3. So even though the trailer looks like more of the same, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get some big reveals from IW in the coming months.
