Call of Duty: Ghosts On PC Will Assume 40GB Of Hard Drive Space

Infinity Ward has laid out the minimum specifications that are required to run the developer’s next title, Call of Duty: Ghosts, on PC platforms. The specs, which were previously leaked on Nvidia’s website earlier this month, detail the high-end threshold needed to play the first-person shooter, with Infinity Ward claiming the PC version of the game is “set to be one of the best Call of Duty experiences ever.”

Infinity Ward has laid out the minimum specifications that are required to run the developer’s next title, Call of Duty: Ghosts, on PC platforms. The specs, which were previously leaked on Nvidia’s website earlier this month, detail the high-end threshold needed to play the first-person shooter, with Infinity Ward claiming that the PC version of the game is “set to be one of the best Call of Duty experiences ever.”

Here’s the full list of mandatory requirements:

• OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
• CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
• Memory: 6 GB RAM
• Hard Disk Space: 40GB
• Video: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
• Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
• DirectX: DirectX 11
• Internet: Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer

Though Nvidia previously claimed that users will need to free up a staggering 50GB of space on their hard disk, it seems the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will claim 40GB instead. With that said, the computing company predicted the RAM requirement of 6GB correctly. As a means for comparison, Battlefield 4 will take up 30GB of space whilst requiring 4GB of RAM, though DICE recommends the high-end 8GB milemarker to run the game smoothly.

For Call of Duty: Ghosts, though, we understand that players will be able to transfer their online statistics from current-gen to next-gen via the Call of Duty account. This feature, which is already a part of the game’s premium Elite package, is designed to make the transition from console to console as seamless as possible; be it from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, or PS3 to PS4. In order to educate gamers on the hardware leap, the developer has published a full list of FAQ on its homepage.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is locked for a November 5th release across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Infinity Ward has confirmed that the title will also be available for next-gen consoles – namely the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – on the respective launch dates.

Until then, if you plan to pick up the game on PC, let us know whether you meet the system requirements in the comments below.
