If, however, you’re expecting this game to feature more of the gritty despair and desperate survival of the original games in the series, well then you’d be barking up the wrong tree. Dead Island: Retro Revenge definitely looks as though there’ll be more humour than horror. But don’t worry; there are still plenty of zombies to destroy.

The game puts you in charge of a slightly overweight protagonist who’s desperately trying to rescue his stolen cat in the midst of the zombie apocalypse. Fighting off zombies and all manner of other enemies, you’ll use deadly weapons and combos to slice through anyone who stands in the way of your feline rescue mission.

Check out the first trailer for Dead Island: Retro Revenge above and see whether this free incentive compels you to pre-order the Dead Island: Definitive Collection.
