The latest developer diary for RAGE has hit the internet, courtesy of the folks at id Software and their publishing partners at Bethesda. Titled The Wasteland, it gives us a look into the world that we’ll be driving and shooting our way through, as well as its colourful cast of characters.

Discussing their latest passion project are members of the development team, who speak about their interest in creating memorable and unique characters to create an added layer of immersion, to go along with the beautiful environments and visceral action.

The goal is to have players completely immersed in a strange world, which they won’t want to leave. That is a goal that almost every other video game development team has, but it’s a tough one to achieve. RAGE certainly looks like it’s on the right path.

Enter the wasteland through our video player portal below and let us know what you think in the comments.

RAGE will be available on October 4 for the 360, PS3 and PC.
