It’s going to be a while yet until Zelda fans around the world will get their hands on the next console release in the series. Until that time is upon us though, at least we have The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes to tide us over.

Nintendo have just announced that the co-operative focused 3DS title will be releasing on October 23 for owners of the handheld console. Announced as part of the company’s Nintendo Direct digital event held at the same time as E3, Tri Force Heroes will have the player teaming up with two other friends over Wi-Fi to make their way through intricately designed dungeons and puzzles.

Many are bound to be disappointed that the Wii U version of Zelda has been pushed back into 2016 and maybe even beyond, but Tri Force Heroes is shaping up to be every bit as good as its predecessors. If, for whatever reason, you’re put off by the ‘forced’ co-operative aspect, don’t despair. Nintendo have taken that into account and will allow players to make their way through the game with two AI-controlled ‘dolls’ to get the job done.

Tell us, what are your thoughts on The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes? Are you interested by the new, co-operative aspect, or will you be holding out for the future Wii U game? Let us know in the comments below.
