Until Dawn Developer Discusses The Possibility Of Future ‘Interactive Drama’ Games

Have you played Until Dawn yet? It's great, isn't it? There's nothing quite like being essentially placed in the director's chair of a horror movie and being given the power to decide who lives and dies based on the choices you make. Supermassive Games have surpassed many expectations with the success of their latest effort - even Sony's - but they're not stopping there.

Have you played Until Dawn yet? It’s great, isn’t it? There’s nothing quite like being essentially placed in the director’s chair of a horror movie and being given the power to decide who lives and dies based on the choices you make. Supermassive Games have surpassed many expectations with the success of their latest effort – even Sony’s – but they’re not stopping there.

Speaking in a recent interview with Game Informer, Until Dawn’s creative director Will Byles stated that there are “many other genres” that his team can tap into and successfully adapt into the same formula used with the interactive horror game.

Byles further stated that:

“[The development team] has been going all out to make Until Dawn the best of its kind across the board and we are definitely going to develop that theme with out next projects.”

He also thanked the fans for the positive response Until Dawn has received; further stating his own passion for horror, but the desire to branch out into other genres, too:

It was very encouraging to get such a good response from the gamers and the critics and it seems that the space is there for more. I love horror, but there are many other genres on which we think this kind of treatment would work beautifully.

Interesting, to say the least. Considering the excellent cinematic quality of Until Dawn, what genre would you love Supermassive Games to tackle next? Sound off below and let us know.
