From Tuesday, October 18, the developer will be introducing the anticipated Heroic Mode for Rise of Iron‘s Wrath of the Machine raid, a considerably more difficult version of the standard raid that promises stronger enemies, more mechanics to deal with and, of course, more lucrative loot rewards.

Along with marking the arrival of new raid weapons (sniper, sidearm, hand cannon and machine gun), Heroic Mode will award new, recoloured sets of existing armor for all three classes that can drop at 400 Light. Additionally, each piece will have Ornament slots for added customization.

In addition to that, another popular feature will be making a return. Introduced with last year’s King’s Fall raid, Challenge Mode tasks players with defeating a certain raid boss under specific circumstances in order to score themselves higher Light loot and exclusive emblems.

If raiding isn’t your thing, Bungie isn’t leaving you behind. Competitive PvP events Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner are both currently live in-game, the latter of which ends October 11. With the Sparrow Racing League and Festival of the Lost events also set to return at some point this year, Bungie’s obviously doing their best to keep Guardians occupied until Destiny 2 launches next year, but will it be enough? We’ll see.
