The latest entry in the popular Disgaea series from NIS America, Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, had its upcoming English release confirmed back in February, but without any specific release date other than sometime in the fall. Now that some time has passed, the company has set and confirmed specific release dates for two separate regions.
Disgaea D2 will be released on September 27th in Europe and on October 8th in North America. Serving as both the latest entry and a commemoration of the series’ 10th anniversary, the game will focus on Laharl, Etna, and Flonne, the trio of lead characters from the first game in the series. The plot centers on Laharl, who has become an overlord during his previous adventures, setting out to seek respect from various denizens of the Underworld who still don’t take him seriously.
New features will include a revamped character creation system that reaches new levels of customization detail, as well as Item World, a level that can be used to power up your characters, weapons and items. NIS America also promises that the game will receive downloadable content to extend its replay value, though exactly what kind of content this will be is currently unknown.
