All Disney Infinity-related signs are pointing towards an upcoming Disney Infinity 2.0 release sometime this August. That is, even though the publisher has yet to provide direct confirmation.
The game’s Infinity Inquirer fan site broke the aforementioned news, stating that confirmation had appeared on Disney’s D23 Fan Club blog. Said update has since been taken down from the company’s website, although a cached version containing the noted information remains available for viewing, and helps to prove the validity of this report.
Another thing that makes us believe that Disney Infinity 2.0 is real, and that it is going to hit store shelves this summer, is the fact that Disney recently released a short trailer that teased Marvel superhero characters. We didn’t think much of it at the time, but upon further inspection, we noticed that a “2.0 Edition” tag does appear at the end of said video.
As a fan of Disney Infinity, I’m definitely interested in seeing what its developers have in store for us with Disney Infinity 2.0.
