In just over a month from now, gaming’s two most beloved primates, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, will return to the forefront of gaming with Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. If you’re a fan of the series, then you’ve probably heard some of the buzz. However, if you’ve missed the news over the last little while, the portable release is said to be a remake of the series’ similarly named 2010 Wii spectacular. Built for the 3DS, it’s sure to bring great platforming to Nintendo’s three-dimensional, dual-screened device.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will cartwheel onto the Nintendo 3DS on May 24, and I frankly cannot wait. Having been a fan of the franchise since my years as a child, it holds a special spot in my inner gaming heart. Then again, it’s hard to think of a better platforming series.
