Trendy Entertainment has announced that they will be bringing tower defense game Dungeon Defenders II to the PlayStation 4 in 2015. The title, which is also coming to PC, MAC and Linux, is currently available through Steam Early Access for those who wish to get their hands on a pre-alpha version.
Featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes, Dungeon Defenders II is an evolution of the formula that worked so well in the original Dungeon Defenders. A cross between third-person RPG and tower defense gameplay, the title tasks players with defending the land of Etheria from the Old Ones. The sequel boasts improved combat and progression systems, as well as new abilities and characters.
Although the final version of the game will be free-to-play, PC gamers can purchase Early Access to Dungeon Defenders II right now for $24.99. Purchasing the title now will not only grant you access to the title, but also includes several perks such as $30 of in-game currency and the Hero Embellishment set.
As someone who enjoyed the original Dungeon Defenders, but played it on a not-PC platform, I’m happy to see that the sequel is coming to the PlayStation 4. It was a great multiplayer experience, and one of the more addictive games of the last console generation. Even with the numerous improvements coming with the sequel, I imagine that it will be just as fun to play as the original.
We will continue to have coverage of Dungeon Defenders II in the lead-up to its 2015 release, so stay tuned!
