Tecmo Koei has officially confirmed Dynasty Warriors Next as a launch title for Sony‘s much-talked about Vita handheld. It will release alongside the touch-enabled device on February 22nd.

The latest entry in the long-serving hack n’ slash/strategy series will carry on where its predecessors left off. Except, this time around, there will be touch controls available. It’s been said that gamers can take advantage of the device’s touch pad and motion sensor, with the option to shake the system for a stronger attack.

Hopefully the motion controls won’t be too prevalent, or forced upon the player. I can see shaking the device becoming repetitive and annoying after a while. However, it’s safe to assume that its development team thought of that. As a result, it’s a physical gesture that is most-likely reserved for special attacks.
