[Update] E3 2013: This Is Sony’s PlayStation 4

After months of secrecy, Sony has just revealed the next-gen PlayStation 4 console on stage during their E3 2013 press conference, giving consumers their first look at the future of the PlayStation brand.

While many fan-created images of the PlayStation 4 depicted a sleek and futuristic looking console, Sony has apparently opted to follow Microsoft’s Xbox One and go for a PS4 design that looks like very much like an early VCR.

Who would have thought that the final PS4 design would end up looking worse than the blurry square image that Sony teased last month?
