Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Release Date Bumped Up To Jan. 8th

D3Publisher announced today that Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable will be released in North America on January 8, 2013 for $39.99, meaning PlayStation Vita owners will be able to start defending the Earth about a month earlier than original scheduled. The game is only being released as a digital download, so there is no need to go bug your favorite local retailer after the start of the new year.

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is a port of the 2007 Xbox 360 shooter Earth Defense Force 2017, however, it has been completely remastered and upgraded with extras not found in the original title. The two biggest additions to Portable are seven all new levels and the high-flying Pale Wing character revealed last month. Aside from those two extras the game also includes; new enemies, over 230 different weapons, and all-new online co-op and versus multiplayer modes for 4 players.
