Describing the background and setting of the upcoming indie title on Xbox Wire, editor-in-chief Will Tuttle says that Earthlock “starts as a simple quest, but develops into an involved journey.”

This westernized turn-based RPG, which in subtle ways reveals its Scandinavian origin, starts as a simple quest, but develops into an involved journey. Play as Amon and join several unlikely heroes to save Umbra, a beautiful but harsh world that mysteriously stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago. Mix up your strategy to beat your enemies by crafting ammo and materials, harvesting elemental plants, and customizing your characters’ talent tree.

Launching September 1 on Xbox One priced $29.99, current Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to download Earthlock: Festival of Magic for free throughout the month alongside three other, yet to be announced Games With Gold titles due to be revealed next week.
