Entire Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Roster Seemingly Leaked; X-Men Fail To Make The Cut

The entire roster for Capcom’s crossover brawler Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite appears to have leaked online, revealing the return (and absence) of several fan favorite characters. Coming by way of NeoGAF user Ryce (via VG247), the list pegs the number of characters included in the final roster at 28, with 14 representatives for each side, although Capcom’s side appears to be missing one member, a spot that, Ryce speculates, could be reserved for Dead Rising‘s Frank West.

As usual, none of this should be considered official until Capcom says otherwise, but Ryce has been accurate with various leaks relating to Infinite in the past, so the credibility is certainly there. Anyway, without further ado, you can see the near-complete roster below. It goes without saying, of course, that you’ll be reading spoilers galore beyond this point.

Capcom:

  • Arthur
  • Chris
  • Chun-Li
  • Dante
  • Firebrand
  • Jedah
  • Monster Hunter
  • Morrigan
  • Nemesis
  • Ryu
  • Spencer
  • Strider Hiryu
  • Mega Man X

Marvel:

  • Ant-Man
  • Captain America
  • Captain Marvel
  • Doctor Strange
  • Gamora
  • Hawkeye
  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Nova
  • Rocket/Groot
  • Spider-Man
  • Thanos
  • Thor
  • Ultron

As many had suspected, following the beat ’em up’s initial announcement and gameplay reveal, it now appears all but set in stone that Infinite will be placing far greater emphasis on those characters that have been popularized by the MCU, with the likes of Ant-Man, Gamora and Ultron all brand new to the series. Unfortunately for X-Men fans, however, it looks like the iconic band of Mutants has been retired from action entirely.

As for Capcom’s side, it’s too early to judge until we see each character in action, but on paper, it feels a little lacklustre in comparison. Darkstalkers‘ Jedah and a Monster Hunter character are the only new arrivals here, joining the likes of Bionic Commando‘s Spencer and Resident Evil‘s monstrous Nemesis.

For those silently hoping the leak is inaccurate due to the absence of certain characters, don’t be too upset – Capcom has previously confirmed that multiple characters will arrive as post-launch DLC, so there’s hope for you yet!

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is out September 19 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. For everything we know about the sequel so far, see here.
