Epic Mickey will be taking a different form on the 3DS than that of its console counterparts. Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion will be a 2D sidescroller developed by DreamRift. It’s being touted as an homage to the Genesis game, Castle of Illusion.
The titular castle has fallen into Wasteland, “an alternate world filled with 80 years of forgotten Disney characters and theme park attractions.” Confronting evil witch Mizrabel, Mickey Mouse must pick up his paint brush and thinner to save his cartoon pals. Players will be able to draw objects on the bottom screen and see them transform into the classic Disney style illustrations up top.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion is set to release this fall.
