Escalation Mode Returns In Latest Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark Trailer

When Transformers: War for Cybertron was released back in 2010, it not only helped introduce a new generation of gamers to the history of the popular franchise, but also brought a couple of new and exciting concepts to the brand. One of these additions was the Escalation mode, which once again makes a return in the upcoming Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark.

A modification of the popular Horde mode found in the Gears Of War franchise, Escalation mode tasks players with assembling a group of Autobots and Decepticons in order to fight off continuous waves of enemy robots. Over forty playable characters will be available for choosing, each with their own distinct abilities and tactics. While it won’t be easy stopping the enemy forces, each successful wave that is stopped will allow players to upgrade their character’s weapons, which should make things a little easier.

While I was a fan of the campaigns included in War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, the Escalation mode was also great fun and I’m happy to see that it will be returning in Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark. However, it is worth noting that the mode will not be present in the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the title.

Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark will launch on June 24 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Windows PC and 3DS.
