As Expected, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC Will Have Timed 360 Exclusivity

call of duty black ops 2 revealed with november 13 release date As Expected, Activisions Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC Will Have Timed 360 Exclusivity

Following a trend set forth by previous Call of Duty titles, Black Ops 2 will see its downloadable content released onto Microsoft‘s Xbox 360 before it appears anywhere else. This certainly won’t come as a surprise, but I figured I’d let you know anyways.

We were reminded of the company’s timed exclusivity arrangement with Activision during today’s media conference, though most of the series’ diehard fans were surely expecting the deal to continue. After all, it’s one of the reasons why the Xbox 360 versions of those hit games end up selling more than their console counterparts.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will bring its futuristic warfare to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC on November 13, 2012.

chad – you’re wrong. the timed dlc isn’t why it sells better on 360…..it’s because of a lack of exclusive content on the the MS console. ps3 gamers just have more to buy. and really – waiting a month is NOT a big deal. i think MS is throwing money away on this deal when the could be using it for new, original 360 exclusives. they’re starting to rehash halo and gears the way nintendo does with mario and doney kong.

While I still think that the timed exclusivity deals generate sales, I don’t disagree with you on the “Microsoft needs more exclusives” front. They don’t have a lot in the cupboard these days, which is both disappointing and surprising.

Microsoft needs to remember that the 360 is a video game console.
