Activision has released a new trailer this week for Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark and, as you would expect, it features all the trappings of a typical Transformers trailer. Explosions! Robots! Grave Optimus Prime voiceover! It’s pretty much like you’re at the movies, watching preview for the latest feature film in the franchise.

Besides featuring glimpses of Optimus, Bumblebee, Bruticus and Starscream, this new trailer also gives us our first look at the Autobot known as Drift. A former Decepticon, Drift now fights on the side of good in order to atone for the sins of his past. He is just one of many playable characters featured in Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark, which blends the feature film universe and the gaming universe together for a unique story.

While I’m still not sure about them combining the two separate Transformers universes, this most recent title does look like it will remain true to High Moon’s previously-released games. However, whether or not this Edge Of Reality developed entry will actually play as well as those titles remains to be seen.

Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark launches on June 24 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. An additional Nintendo 3DS version will also be released, but it’s being developed by WayForward Technologies.
