F1 2014 Secures October Release Date For Xbox 360, PS3 & PC

With a launch date pegged for early next year in accordance with the 2015 season, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will have to bid their time before stepping foot into the proverbial driving seat, though Codemasters has stated that it will support the imminent release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One throughout the course of next year.

To clarify things, Luke Spring, community manager at the racing-infused studio, outlined the premise of F1 2014 while confirming plans to unveil more details regarding its current-gen successor.

“F1 2014 recreates this year’s incredible season featuring all the seismic changes to the sport,” he added, “including new turbocharged cars, new circuits plus all the driver moves. Now onto new-gen. 2015 will see us release our first title on new-generation platforms. The game will launch earlier in the Formula One season and then go onto receive live digital updates.”

In terms of new mechanics, Spring also went on to discuss the enhancements that budding racers can expect come October. Most notable of these refinements is the game’s new and expanded scenario mode, which will also play a bigger role across the F1 2014’s career mode, according to Codemasters’ description.

“The game also includes refined handling on a pad and a new driver evaluation system that tunes game settings to your skill level to increase accessibility – we want all of our players to race competitively, more quickly,” he stated.
