Continuing the campaign started in June with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the latest game being made free to all Ubisoft Club members as part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebrations is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Released back in 2013 as a standalone expansion for Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon diverges from the Bangkok setting of the former, instead adopting an 80s-themed aesthetic complete with wise-cracking protagonist and garish sci-fi aesthetics.

Blood Dragon‘s playable landscape may have been far smaller than the entirety of Far Cry 3‘s, but that did nothing to sully its charm – Ubisoft managed to pack a healthy dose of satire, homage and nostalgia into its more contained universe. We gave it a glowing recommendation in our original review.

You can head over to the Ubisoft Club page to get the free game, although it won’t be available until November 9. October’s free gameBeyond Good & Evil – is still the flavor of the month, so to speak, so make sure to grab it before it’s too late.

Coincidentally, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is free throughout November on Xbox as part of Microsoft’s Games With Gold, so nobody’s being left out of enjoying one of the greatest love letters to 80s pop culture.
