Undoubtedly, EA is one of the most prestigious game publishers in the industry – particularly when it comes to sports – and the fact that Microsoft have signed them up to reveal exclusive details in tandem with the Xbox reveal is a bold mission statement. Capitalising on its predecessor’s formidable success – in fact, FIFA 13 has gone on to sell 14.5 million units worldwide, itself a 30% increase from FIFA 12 – FIFA 14 will hope to appease eager football fans with a plethora of new features – including Real Ball Physics technology and an improved goal scoring system. The widely popular franchise will most likely launch in the Autumn on current-gen consoles including PS3, Xbox 360, PC and, crucially, not Wii U. Mind you, it’s almost a given that FIFA 14 will be available on the next Xbox and Playstation 4, too.

Trotting off the football pitch and stepping into the ring, EA are also poised to release details about their next instalment in the UFC series. The industry giant recently acquired the rights for the game from THQ during their liquidation auction, and while we can’t expect much details to be revealed – the game has no firm release date at this time – fans of the fighting franchise will have their collective attention peaked later today.

Are you looking forward to hearing how EA will take these respective franchises forward? What do you want from FIFA 14 and UFC? Be sure to let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more news from Microsoft’s Xbox reveal.
