With the upcoming Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD re-release set to come out in just under a month, Square Enix has released a new trailer for the collection that focuses on the additional features coming to both games.

While this update features the requisite improvements to the graphics and soundtrack, there are still a handful of other things to note. You can expect to find newly integrated trophies, cross-save compatibility between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions, a new audio drama that features concept art from both titles, and most importantly, all of the features from the international versions of the games that were previously exclusive to Japan.

For those who don’t know, the international versions of these titles added several hours of additional content and extras to both games and this marks the first time that most North American gamers will get to experience them.

Final Fantasy X: International features new Sphere Grids, Dark Aeon boss battles and additional cinematics that help bridge the gap to the sequel. Final Fantasy X-2: International includes general updates to the gameplay, a Creature Creator system that allows players to train monsters and former allies in order to use in battle and the Last Mission story, which takes place following the events of the game.

Square Enix could have easily just updated the graphics and soundtrack and called it a day on Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD, but it’s nice to see that the company is going out of its way to include all previously released content too. North America and Europe are finally getting the definitive editions of both titles that have been available in Japan for quite some time now and I couldn’t be happier.

Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD will be released on March 18 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Are you interested in returning to the world of Spira with Yuna and company? Let us know in the comments section below.
