Looks Like Final Fantasy Versus XIII Isn’t Cancelled After All

Remember that rumor that popped up a few days ago that Final Fantasy Versus XIII would be quietly cancelled, never to be seen or heard from again? Well apparently it doesn’t have any truth at all, which means Square Enix hasn’t totally lost it!

According to a Tweet from Square Enix head Yoichi Wada, the game will still see the life of day at some point.

There’s someone making a false rumor that Versus was cancelled. Haha…Just a minute ago, the regular Versus meeting ended. If you saw the presentation of the city, it’d knock you off your feet~lol

The game has seen six years of development Hell, and gamers don’t have very much to go on at all. It’s worth noting that Square Enix is having a Final Fantasy-related event on September 1, although the only thing confirmed to be at that event is some sort of Final Fantasy XIII-related announcement, widely speculated to be the announcement of a Final Fantasy XIII-3.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see, kids. But at least we have some positive news on the game, even if that news is simply “the game still exists.”
