If you haven’t had the time or money to try out Square Enix’s MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn yet, but have had the time to get yourself a PlayStation 4, you’ll have the opportunity to do so very soon. The Japanese publisher has confirmed that not only will an enhanced PS4 version of the current PS3 and PC game launch in North America on April 14, but two betas will take place beforehand.

The initial beta will run from February 22 to March 3, with character data being wiped at its conclusion. It should be noted that the second beta, which will run from April 4 to April 7, will allow for character data created during it to be transferred to the full retail game. Starting on April 11, a service allowing for existing players to transfer their characters created in the PS3 version of the game to the PS4 version will also be made available.

Several enhancements for the PS4 version have also been confirmed, including improved graphics in 1080p and the ability to play with a mouse and keyboard for PC veterans, along with more universal system features like Remote Play functionality on the PS Vita and the option to capture or stream videos and photos. Additionally, a promotional trailer compiling gameplay footage captured directly from the PS4 version has been released, and can be viewed below.
