Final Fantasy XIV For PS3 Can Upgrade To The PS4 Version Free Of Charge

Final Fantasy XIV For PS3 Can Upgrade To The PS4 Version Free Of Charge

Well well well, if this doesn’t cement your purchase of the PS3 Final Fantasy XIV version, then I don’t know what will. In a recent announcement by Square Enix as part of Sony’s so-far exciting pre-TGS festivities, the company revealed that you need not hesitate heading into Hydaelyn at your nearest convenience. If you purchase Final Fantasy XIV for PS3 now, you won’t have to buy it again on PS4. It will be a free download, and all of your progress will be carried over. Nice!

This is pretty fantastic news, and was the only thing keeping me firmly poised on the fence regarding when to get started, so I’m basically navigating Amazon as we speak to get things rolling. Square also announced that beta-testing for that version of the game will commence on February 22nd, 2014, and PS3 players will have free access to that as well. Geez, if it wasn’t for the monthly subscription I’d quit RuneScape right now! And you will never know if that last sentence was a joke or not.

At any rate, check out the press release below if you want all the gory details, and get amped for Final Fantasy XIV if you haven’t already. I have a skimpy PC that can’t even load Jetpack Brontosaurus, so to me console MMOs are a godsend.
