For King And Country: New Multiplayer Attire For The Last Of Us Celebrates Nationality

With Halloween a little over a week away, Naughty Dog is getting into the holiday spirit by rolling out a plethora of new garments for The Last of Us’ multiplayer. The downloadable content – which is included in the game’s season pass – is available from today and features 22 region specific hats that represent, you guessed it, 22 countries from around the globe. What’s more, the studio is also partnering with TripleWRECK to host the first online tournament for the game, which is set to take place on October 25th.

In a post over on the PlayStation Blog, Eric Monacelli, Naughty Dog’s community strategist, had this to say about the upcoming event:

“Apocalypse is the first community run The Last of Us tournament ever. We’re happy to lend support and provide prizing for it.”

Players can sign up for the 4v4 tourney on the company’s website, which will incorporate the new-fangled Interrogation and Supply Raid modes, too. In terms of the newly released DLC, though, the aforementioned season pass will be 75% cheaper than the cumulative cost of the gear, or, if you haven’t purchased the premium package, the ‘Country Flag’ hats can be acquired individually for $0.99 each. Additionally, Naughty Dog has stated that more multiplayer head gear for The Last of Us will be revealed in the coming days.

Now that the first batch of multiplayer DLC is out in the open, players will be able to don the new attire and partake in tactical combat within Suburbs, Bus Depot, Hometown and Bookstore as well as the existing collection of maps. Monacelli also pointed out that The Last of Us is currently on sale courtesy of Sony’s Sale of the Dead promotion on the PSN, with Naughty Dog’s critically-adorned opus now available digitally for $44.99.

Tell us, what do you make of the new attire? Do you plan on picking up this multiplayer add-on? Let us know below.
