Four Minutes Of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Footage

It was a four-minute long demo of the iconic Silent Cartographer mission from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary - the in-development remake of the much loved XBOX game, Halo: Combat Evolved. The one that started it all and brought online gaming to incredible popularity on consoles, is coming back in shiny form.

It was a four-minute long demo of the iconic Silent Cartographer mission from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary – the in-development remake of the much loved XBOX game, Halo: Combat Evolved. The one that started it all and brought online gaming to incredible popularity on consoles, is coming back in shiny form.

You may remember that it’s the same level that was briefly shown at E3, when the project was revealed to much fanfare. It’s all narrated by Dan Ayoub from 343, who gave us some extra information and a friendly overtone.

Fans of the franchise will definitely want to check the footage out. It shows off a very noticeable graphics upgrade, as well as the trusty over-powered pistol. Not only that, but they also give us a look at how we can switch between the new look and its classic visuals on the fly.

I must admit that I’ve always had a hard time getting into the Halo games, even though I love a good first-person shooter. A lot of the games just didn’t do it for me. However, Halo: Combat Evolved was definitely one of the games from the series that I did enjoy blasting my way through, so Anniversary is looking pretty nice. Hopefully they’ll alter those terrible jeep controls, though.
